Behind The Event With Diana Cuevas

Ever wondered what goes into planning an unforgettable event? Meet Diana Cuevas, our talented and dynamic Events Manager. In this interview, she offers a glimpse into her process and passion – and how she brings every event to life with elegance and intention.

Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you first got into events?

My journey to The Jacquelyn began with a love for creating meaningful gatherings. From a young age, I was the go-to host among my family and friends – planning holiday parties, elaborate birthday celebrations, and obsessing over every detail. I’d spend hours repurposing old art supplies, thrifted finds, or forgotten items from the garage to bring each vision to life. I didn’t know it then, but I was already developing the eye, creativity, and joy for the kind of work I do now. With a background in wedding planning, winery events, and event design, as well as a degree in Hospitality and Events Management, I bring passion and precision to curating exceptional experiences.

What Makes The Jacquelyn Stand out From Other Event Venues In The City?

The Jacquelyn is more than just a venue. It’s a women-led private social club that blends design-forward spaces with a deep sense of community, creativity, and hospitality. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter gatherings. Instead, we collaborate closely with each member to create something meaningful and memorable. Because we’re primarily a private club, hosting an event here feels personal, not transactional.

How Do Different Spaces – Like the Studio or The Glass Box – lend themselves to different types of events? Which space is your favorite?

Each space at The Jacquelyn is distinctly different in style and atmosphere, which gives us the flexibility to meet the needs of a wide range of events. This diversity allows us to match a space to the host’s vision. I’m especially drawn to The Library – there’s something incredibly grounding about it. It’s cozy, quiet, and filled with bespoke vintage pieces and soft light. It’s a space that naturally invites people to slow down, which is rare during events. It embodies the spirit of the club: warm, refined, and a little unexpected.

What’s been one of the most memorable events you’ve helped coordinate at the Jacquelyn?

A first-of-its-kind event always leaves a special memory. One of the most unforgettable events was our very first wedding reception. The stars truly aligned for this couple. They got engaged at Temple Coffee just across the street, and interestingly, The Jacquelyn sign — still part of a construction site at the time — appeared in the background of their engagement photos. It felt kismet for them to celebrate their reception with us. They brought such warmth and joy to the planning process, and it was an honor to be part of their special day. Surrounded by love, laughter, and the people who meant the most to them, their reception was a beautiful beginning, not just for them, but for all the future love stories our space would go on to host.
