Plated To Perfection Shared With Purpose

This season, we welcomed Chef Patrick Mulvaney of Mulvaney’s B&L to collaborate with Chef Taylor Lovelace on a four-course “Gathered in Gratitude” dinner that embodied warmth and generosity, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services.

We sat down with both chefs to talk about their collaboration and their chemistry was instant, the kind that comes from two people who share the same passion. For both chefs, it’s never been just about what’s on the plate. It’s about who’s sitting around the table, the stories being swapped between bites, the laughter that makes wine taste better.

“I’m usually only invited into kitchens once,”Patrick jokes, flashing a grin. He lights up when he talks about working with younger chefs like Taylor…

“It’s fun for me now, because I’m old and I’ve been in this business for a while now, to be able to use that idea – that we, in hospitality, meet everybody and associate with everybody; and to be able to do dinners like this where we can share a little bit with our guests to say…we are more alike than we are different.”

This collaboration is just the beginning. The best meals aren’t just about incredible food, they’re about bringing people together; chefs, our members, and everyone who believes that the table is where community gets built, one perfectly plated course at a time.
